SEOUL, Dec. 1, 2021 – Hyundai Motor Company today announced global sales results for November 2021. The company sold 312,602 units globally last month, a decrease of 17.1% from a year earlier.

The company sold 250,531 units outside of Korea, down 18.4% from a year earlier. Despite a slight upward movement in the European market sales, overall sales decreased mainly because of disruption in the global semiconductor part supply and the impact caused by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Sales in Korea decreased 11.4% Y/y to 62,071 units. Although total sales are down from the previous year, various SUV and Genesis luxury brand models created sales momentum with a total of 31,862 units in Hyundai’s home market.

Hyundai will continue to manage risk in the challenging business environment through flexible adjustment of its production plans in line with inventory status. Also, Hyundai is witnessing gradual increase in vehicle production beginning from September. Year to date, Hyundai is recording 5.4% increase in global sales year over year reflecting the company’s strong product line-up.

Moreover, the company will make every effort to regain its sales by strengthening the growth of IONIQ 5 battery electric vehicle and the Genesis luxury brand line-up.
