Under her leadership, Hyundai Mobility Japan will further accelerate its electrification strategy and customer experience innovation, driving sustainable growth in the Japanese market while continuing to strengthen its position as a trusted mobility brand.

I am deeply honored to assume the role of President and CEO of Hyundai Mobility Japan. Hyundai leads in electrification and hydrogen solutions while continually redefining mobility. In Japan, we are committed to becoming a trusted brand by strengthening brand value, enhancing customer experience, and building a sustainable business foundation. We will foster an organization where every employee reaches their full potential, enabling us to create a new chapter of growth together with our customers and partners.

Naomi Fudo

President and CEO of Hyundai Mobility Japan

Who Is Naomi Fudo?

Ms. Fudo is an accomplished executive with a proven track record in business development, marketing, and digital transformation (DX). She began her career in the IT industry in the United States and built extensive leadership experience in the financial sector before transitioning to the automotive industry.

Most recently, she served as President and CEO of Volvo Car Japan, becoming the company’s first female president. Leveraging her broad business leadership experience, Ms. Fudo will drive the continued growth of the Hyundai brand in Japan by prioritizing customer-centric mobility experiences and organizational reform.

How Will the One ZEV Strategy Shape the Future?

Since re-entering the Japanese market in 2022, Hyundai Mobility Japan has been committed to realizing a sustainable mobility society through the advancement of zero-emission vehicle (ZEVs) including electric vehicles (EVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).

Moving forward, the company will continue accelerating electrification through its One ZEV Strategy, which covers both passenger and commercial mobility segments. From compact EVs to electric buses, Hyundai Motor is committed to addressing diverse mobility needs through a broad ZEV portfolio.

What Is the Next Step for Customer Journey Innovation?

Building on its successful direct-to-consumer (D2C) business model, Hyundai Mobility Japan will further strengthen direct relationships with customers while reimagining the entire customer journey as a seamless experience. This holistic approach includes every stage from initial research and purchase through ownership, after-sales service and repurchase.

Through Hyundai Premium Care, the company will continue providing peace of mind and long-term ownership support. This initiative builds lasting customer relationships and delivers a highly differentiated EV ownership experience throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.

How Will Hyundai Mobility Japan Evolve Beyond Traditional Automaking?

Hyundai Mobility Japan aims to evolve beyond a traditional automotive company into a comprehensive mobility provider. Looking ahead, the company will leverage next-generation technologies — such as software-defined vehicles (SDVs), autonomous driving and smart mobility services — to provide safer, more convenient and sustainable mobility experiences for both individual and corporate customers.

To ensure the success of this forward-looking vision, a smooth leadership transition is underway. Mr. Toshiyuki Shimegi, who has served as President since January 2025, stepped down on July 31, 2026. During his tenure, he strengthened sales operations, advanced collaborations with local governments, and enhanced brand awareness. He will remain with the company as an Advisor through December 2026 to support a smooth leadership transition.
